Ei linach yn rhydd yng ngwyllt y mor. Ihr Vorgänger ist frei in der Wildheit des Meeres.
( Issued by the BRITISH ART MEDAL SOCIETY (BAMS), 1993)
The medal refers to fish, related to the salmon, in deep lakes in general. Gwyniad is the name given to them in North Wales.
One side of the medal shows the silvery, evolved, herring-like fish, while the other shows its wild and aggressive ancestor, the salmon.
The medal measures 90 x 80mm and was cast in pewter by Ginacliff.
